A beautiful thing happens each week when our church gathers together for worship, but it takes all of us working together as a body. Consider one of the following teams as your next step in serving within the Embrace Church Family.
SET UP &
This team serves on an every other week rotation. We start unloading our trailers at 7:30am, have a short time of prayer at center court, and then get to work on creating the space for our church to gather, usually finishing around 9:15am. Shortly after worship ends we get right back to work, tearing down and re-loading everything, usually finishing near 12:30pm.
The worship team's main role is leading our congregation in worship at our Sunday morning gathering. Usually operating on an every other week basis, musicians and singers are expected to attend a practice on Wednesday nights at 6:30 and to be at Lee-Scott from 8:15 until about 12:00 on weeks that they are playing or singing. No instrument is off limits, so if you have a talent, let's talk!
Production involves running the sound board or the slides for our main worship gathering on Sunday mornings. There is some skill required for this, but if you're willing to learn, we'll teach you! Serving in production is an every other week or once every three weeks rotation. Production does require some set up and tear down so members are required to be at Lee-Scott from 8:15 until about 12:00 on the Sunday that they're serving.
Members on the Cafe Team serve a month at a time (every 3 months). Members begin the prep of coffee and snacks from the Oak Park office at 8am and then transport to Lee-Scott Academy for final prep and set up. After worship there is some light cleaning, packing and transport of a few items back to the Oak Park office.
Serving on an every other week rotation, our Greeting Team does just that...greeting and engaging people in our welcome area. They also receive the offering during our worship gathering and assist with some teardown of the welcome area.
Serving on an every other week rotation, our parking team members are typically the first faces that our guests encounter. They help with any needs people may have in the parking area, give a friendly "Hello" and direct people towards the entrance of our worship area.
Serving on an every other week rotation, these are often the first people that kids and their families meet with on Sunday mornings. They welcome each family and help them to get kids checked in to the appropriate Embrace Kids spaces, introduce new families to our kids' spaces, set up our computerized check-in system each week, and maintain control when technical issues arise.
This team is composed of a variety of roles for people ages 6th grade and up to engage with the youngest generation in our church. Nobody on this team simply "serves," but instead, we "lead" children to become disciples of Jesus. To learn more about leading our Embrace Kids from infants up through 5th grade, click here.
